Blood Moon

This post is not for the weak at heart. I'm not even joking, you can leave now if you get grossed out easily or don't want to hear about the menstrual cycle... specifically mine.


I decided to do an experiment with myself, because, I slack sometimes on my self-care.


Ok, I slack a lot on my self care.


This post is going to be me tracking my Follicular Phase, which is day 1-14 of the cycle and involves the bleeding portion.




My period sucks. Like literally I can't work out in fear of having a bright red stain on any pants I wear within an hour of putting in a new Super tampon sucks.


It wasn't always like this, but for the past 5 months it has turned in to this atrocious beast which takes no prisoners.


I was on the pill for a long time in my youth, but came off of it probably around 5 years ago. Any time I go to the doctor and they suggest me going on the pill again I basically want to give them a big "Fuck you".


The pill killed me. It killed my sex drive, it killed my skin, it killed my energy, it killed my perception of myself. I refuse to go on it again, but from what I've heard, not many other options are ever given.


THIS BEING SAID, IF YOU EXPERIENCE HEAVY BLEEDING THAT CAN FILL UP MULTIPLE SUPERS IN A MATTER OF AN HOUR YOU SHOULD MOST LIKELY GO SEE A DOCTOR TO RULE OUT ANY SERIOUS ISSUES.


Okay, back to my story of how much I love my monthly gift. I'll give you one thing I like about it, my heaviest day is synced up with the Full Moon. Gotta love that Yin. We shall talk more about that in another post.


I've had to change twice today already. It is the beginning of day 3 of my cycle. SUPER FUN. Since I'm tracking and divulging information, I have currently used 4 Regulars and 7 Supers. Yep, you've read that right.


BTW, I use the Flo app to track everything. No, they're not paying me, I'm just helping you out if you suck at being a responsible female and tracking these things yourself like I do.




I decided that after this period ends I'm going to test out the herbs I give to people as samples and see if they can help (along with acupuncture I will be doing on myself) to regulate this shit show of a menstrual cycle.


These herbs are from Dao Labs, and are called 'Women's Formula' and are supposed to help regulate your cycle. They also come in a Women's monthly kit" which include the "Emotional balance" herbs, but I'm more for testing one thing at a time.


I'll be posting updates here and on Instagram about how my period has changed or if anything changed at all.

- moodiness

- irritability

- crying

- anger with wanting to throat punch people

- leg cramps

- cramps

- decreased energy

- achy everywhere

- acne on chin or forehead

- heavy bleeding (supers in an hour for the first day)

- decreased strength

- easily fatigued

- cravings of sweet or salty

- constantly thirst and dry lips


I think that's enough for now. I will make an update post once my bleeding has ended and let you know what I am taking, how often and which points I am using and how often.
