What is Acupuncture?
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture originated in China and is only one component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

It involves the insertion of hair thin needles in to the skin, either using the meridians and channels found in TCM or motor points similar to trigger points in Western Medicine.

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine understand that the body is a whole and not just the sum of it's symptoms.
How Does it Work?
Acupuncture works by stimulating the nervous system and re-balancing the body. I can not only help slow the body down,m but can also speed it up.

Scientific evidence found that it works on nerves called C fibers. These are thought to keep us awake and alert, therefore acupuncture can either stimulate or depress these sensations.

Acupuncture also tells the brain to release neuropeptides which aid in reducing pain and stimulate the body's self-healing functions.
